Geneva (August 14, 2025) – SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 085.25, summarizing the UK’s latest updates to its fire safety framework for domestic furniture and furnishings. On April 30, 2025, the UK Office for Product Safety and Standards released statutory guidance on the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) (Amendment) Regulations 2025, which amend the original 1988 regulations. The updates take effect on October 30, 2025, and reflect the government’s intent to enhance consumer protection and align the regulations with modern product usage and associated risks. Key changes include: - Scope exclusions: certain baby and children’s products (e.g. mattresses, prams, play mats, cot bumpers) are no longer covered due to low fire risk and concerns over chemical exposure - Labeling update: swing labels (display labels) are no longer required, though permanent labels under Regulation 11 remain mandatory - Extended enforcement window: the legal timeframe for non-compliance action is increased from six to 12 months - GPSR compliance: excluded products must now comply with the General Product Safety Regulations in the UK. This includes fire safety obligations - Risk and documentation: manufacturers must assess risks where required, maintain technical documentation and ensure product traceability SGS publishes SafeGuardS to help stakeholders stay informed of important regulatory developments. SafeGuardS 085.25 offers a comprehensive overview of the UK’s amended furniture fire safety regulations and their implications for manufacturers, importers and retailers. BRISBANE, QLD3 Aug 2025 – In 2025, more Australian businesses are choosing to outsource digital marketing services as a cost-effective, results-driven alternative to in-house teams. 5Tales Digital Marketing, a Brisbane-based agency serving clients nationwide, is seeing a marked rise in demand for services such as SEO, web design, social media management, and hosting. This shift reflects a growing understanding among business owners that partnering with an expert digital agency delivers measurable ROI without the overheads.

With economic uncertainty prompting businesses to streamline internal resources, outsourcing digital marketing has become a strategic move. 5Tales reports that local trades and professional service providers—from a plumber in Quinns Rocks WA to a boutique law firm in Augustine Heights QLD—are outsourcing SEO and content campaigns to maintain online visibility without stretching internal staff.

Las Cruces, New Mexico – Aug 5th, 2025 – A delayed or incorrect diagnosis can have life-altering and even fatal consequences, especially when it involves a heart attack. At Poulos & Coates LLP, our team of experienced medical malpractice attorneys is raising awareness about the serious dangers of heart attack misdiagnosis in Las Cruces, Alamogordo, Deming and across New Mexico.

Timely and accurate diagnosis is essential to ensuring a positive medical outcome. Patients whose conditions are identified and treated promptly often have significantly better prognoses. But when doctors fail to recognize the warning signs of a heart attack, the results can be catastrophic.

Every year, over one million people have heart attacks across the United States every year, and a number of these incidents could’ve been prevented with an earlier investigation, diagnosis, and treatment by the healthcare team. While chest pain may seem like a clear signal, mild heart attacks often present in subtle or confusing ways. Too often, emergency room physicians and primary care doctors dismiss symptoms as something less serious—such as heartburn, acid reflux, anxiety, or even bronchitis.

“Unfortunately, a misdiagnosis doesn’t just delay care—it can mean the difference between life and death,” said a representative from Poulos & Coates LLP. “When doctors cut corners by avoiding important diagnostic tools like MRIs, blood tests, or echocardiography—often to save time or money—patients are the ones who suffer.”

Even more alarming, the reverse can also occur. In rare cases, a patient may be wrongly diagnosed with having had a heart attack when they have not. Being placed on unnecessary heart medications can create additional health risks, including side effects, long-term damage, and psychological distress.

Heart attack misdiagnosis is not isolated to New Mexico—it’s a national issue. But when it happens in our own community, the impact is personal. Las Cruces residents who have suffered harm due to a heart attack misdiagnosis either by not receiving the treatment they needed, or by receiving the wrong treatment are encouraged to take legal action.

“Patients trust their doctors to protect their health and act in their best interest,” said the firm’s spokesperson. “When that trust is broken, our team is here to help victims seek the justice and compensation they deserve.”

If you or someone you love has experienced the devastating effects of a heart attack misdiagnosis in Las Cruces or anywhere in New Mexico, consult the top heart attack misdiagnosis lawyer in Las Cruces. Contact the skilled attorneys at Poulos & Coates LLP today at 575-376-6583.

Geneva (August 8, 2025) – SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 115.25, summarizing the European Union’s reinforcement of security requirements under the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) for connected devices.

Articles 3.3 (d), (e) and (f) of RED will come into force on August 1, 2025, and apply to internet-connected devices, as well as equipment that processes personal data and financial information.

Under RED Article 17, a Notified Body is required if harmonized standards are not applied or are only partially applied. While European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) standards EN18031-1, -2 and -3 have been published in the Official Journal of the EU, they include restrictions that may not apply to all products. As a result, self-declaration may still be possible. Manufacturers must carry out due diligence, apply the appropriate standards and involve a Notified Body where necessary to ensure compliance before placing products on the market.

SGS experts publish SafeGuardS to keep stakeholders informed of regulatory develop that could impact their business. SafeGuardS XXX.25 also includes further information on which types of devices will be affected by the implementation of Articles 3.3 (d), 3.3 (e) and 3.3 (f) of RED.
