The Law Office of Rosina C. Stambaugh, a nationally recognized immigration law firm with a local office in York, Pennsylvania, is expanding its outreach to individuals and families facing critical immigration challenges, particularly those involving alien registration compliance and immigrant detention. With decades of collective experience and a reputation for compassionate, client-focused service, the firm provides unwavering support to people navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Providing Legal Clarity on Alien Registration Requirements

Every non-citizen in the United States is required by federal law to register with the government. However, the process is often misunderstood, and failing to meet alien registration requirements can have serious consequences, including detention or removal proceedings. Rosina Law helps clients understand and comply with these laws to avoid unnecessary legal risks. Their blog post on alien registration requirements offers an accessible overview for those seeking initial guidance.

“We see too many cases where immigrants are detained or placed in deportation proceedings simply because they were unaware of their registration obligations,” says Managing Attorney Rosina Stambaugh. “Our goal is to educate and protect our clients from these avoidable pitfalls.”

Aggressive Advocacy for Detained Immigrants

When a loved one is suddenly taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), families are often left in confusion and fear. Rosina Law offers prompt, strategic action for those with a family member detained by ICE, helping them understand their rights and options. The firm’s team includes seasoned legal professionals with a strong track record of securing bond hearings, challenging unlawful detention, and seeking release for individuals facing deportation.

Their service includes connecting families with a lawyer for detained immigrants immediately, offering consultations and representation across detention centers nationwide.

Trusted Deportation Defense from Coast to Coast

Rosina Law’s comprehensive deportation defense services have helped hundreds of individuals stay in the U.S. legally. From asylum claims to cancellation of removal, the firm tailors each strategy to the unique needs of the client. With multilingual staff and a deep understanding of immigration court proceedings, they are well-equipped to represent clients regardless of where they are detained or where their court hearings are scheduled.

Geneva (June 24, 2025) – SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 080.25, highlighting a significant regulatory update under the EU’s REACH legislation. The adoption of Commission Regulation (EU) 2025/1090 introduces important changes.

Effective June 23, 2025, this new regulation adds two hazardous substances, N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAC) and 1-ethylpyrrolidone-2-one (NEP), to Annex XVII of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH), placing new limits on their use across multiple industries.

These substances are commonly used as solvents in paints, coatings, adhesives, sealants, plastics and man-made fibers. Both have been recognized for their potential risks to human health, with DMAC already listed as a substance of very high concern (SVHC) since 2011.

Key restrictions are as follows:
- DMAC and NEP will be prohibited as standalone substances and as constituents of other substances from December 23, 2026
- In mixtures, their concentration must not exceed 0.3%, unless exposure controls meet stringent safety thresholds
- Additional restrictions for DMAC’s use in manufacturing man-made fibers will apply from December 23, 2029

These measures require manufacturers, importers and downstream users to incorporate derived no-effect levels (DNELs) into their safety documentation and demonstrate that worker exposure remains below the specified limits.

SGS publishes SafeGuardS to help stakeholders stay informed of key regulatory developments. SafeGuardS 080.25 includes a table summarizing the key restrictions for DMAC and NEP.

Stakeholders are encouraged to review the full SafeGuardS 080.25 for further details.

Geneva (June 24, 2025) – SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 081.25, highlighting Denmark’s proposed update to its national legislation on food contact materials (FCMs), which is expected to come into effect on January 1, 2026.

The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (DVFA) recently completed public consultation on a Draft Executive Order on Food Contact Materials and Penal Provisions, aimed at aligning national requirements with EU regulations while also introducing stricter domestic controls for certain materials, including ceramics, enameled articles, glassware, paper and cardboard.

Key provisions include:
- New declaration of conformity (DoC) requirements for products placed on the market before retail
- Revised migration limits for lead and cadmium in ceramics and related articles
- Updated substance lists for regenerated cellulose films
- A ban on PFAS in paper and cardboard food contact articles, unless an effective barrier is in place
- Clear penalties for non-compliance, including fines and, in serious cases, imprisonment of up to two years

The draft regulation would replace Executive Order No. 681 (May 25, 2020) and includes transitional provisions allowing non-compliant products placed on the market before January 1, 2026, to remain available until stocks are exhausted.

SGS publishes SafeGuardS to help stakeholders stay informed of key regulatory developments. SafeGuardS 081.25 includes a summary table outlining the key provisions of the draft order, including lead and cadmium limit values for ceramics, enameled articles, and glassware.

Stakeholders are encouraged to consult the full SafeGuardS 081.25 for complete details.

Geneva (June 24, 2025) – SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 082.25, drawing attention to a regulatory update issued by Mercosur, the Southern Common Market, concerning food contact materials made from cellulosic sources.

In April 2025, Mercosur announced the approval of GMC Resolution No. 02/25, amending GMC Resolution No. 40/15, which sets out the technical regulation for food contact cellulosic materials. The update introduces updated language regarding the presence of diisopropylnaphthalene (DIPN) in recycled fiber products.

The amendment revises the language regarding the requirement for diisopropylnaphthalene (DIPN) to: ‘The content of DIPN in the finished product produced from recycled fibers should be as low as technically feasible’ (Annex, Part II, Point 1.2(f)).

This modification reinforces the principle of minimization, reflecting a growing regional emphasis on safety and precaution in recycled food contact materials.

The updated resolution must now be transposed into national legislation by Mercosur member states (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay). Bolivia, which became a full member of Mercosur in July 2024, has been granted a four-year transition period to align its national laws with the bloc’s regulations.

SGS issues SafeGuardS to help stakeholders stay informed of key regulatory developments. SafeGuardS 082.25 outlines the recent amendment to Mercosur’s regulation on food contact cellulosic materials, including updated language on diisopropylnaphthalene (DIPN) content and its implications for manufacturers using recycled fibers.

Stakeholders are encouraged to review the full SafeGuardS 082.25 for further details.
