Microchip Releases Major Update to BlueSky GNSS Firewall Software to Strengthen Global Navigation Satellite System GNSS Protection

New Delhi, July 13, 2020 – Critical infrastructure systems including power utilities, financial services, mobile networks and transportation rely on Global Positioning System (GPS)-delivered timing to ensure ongoing operations. Microchip Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: MCHP) today announced the release of a major software update for its BlueSky GNSS Firewall product, providing a higher level of resiliency against GPS vulnerabilities for systems dependent on GPS signal reception.

Microchip’s BlueSky GNSS Firewall Software Release 2.0 performs real-time analysis to detect jamming and spoofing for protecting reception of the GPS signal and hardening response and recovery to avoid signal disruption. BlueSky GNSS Firewall Software Release 2.0 includes charting and advanced threshold settings of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) observables such as satellites-in-view, carrier-to-noise, position dispersion, phase time deviation and radio frequency (RF) power level to simplify system turn-up and deployment.

BlueSky GNSS Firewall Software Release 2.0 includes improvements developed by Microchip as a result of participation in an industry live-sky testing event hosted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate and open to all providers. Microchip’s participation in the DHS-hosted GPS Testing for Critical Infrastructure (GET-CI) events, with scenarios including spoofed signals, has helped the company to identify new solutions to prevent signal disruptions. As a result of 2019 live-sky testing and other input, Microchip developed the Blue Sky GNSS Firewall Software Release 2.0 to address operators’ evolving requirements.

As a leader in frequency and time systems, Microchip continuously innovates GPS signal reception security technologies for commercial and military operators similar to how network firewalls protect against virus threats. Updates are essential to defend against rapidly-evolving GNSS disruptions and enable critical infrastructure operators to avoid interruptions of service.

Microchip’s BlueSky GNSS Firewall Software Release 2.0 is provided as part of a subscription service and is installed on the BlueSky GNSS Firewall device. When connected to Microchip’s TimePictra management software, critical infrastructure operators also can monitor and analyze GNSS signals in cities, across geographic regions, throughout a country and even globally.

Other complementary devices and software in Microchip’s suite of GPS systems and services include the TimeProviderÒ 4100 Precise Timing Grandmaster with Gateway Clock, SyncServer 600/650 timing and frequency instrument, miniature atomic clock (MAC), Time Cesium and 5071A cesium primary frequency standard.

YFRS Creates the Perfect Marketing Scenario For Online Brands

Most brands live and die by email marketing, which for the most part builds extremely finite consumer relationship bonding. Acquiring 4,000+ users with-in the first 5 days of launching, “YFRS (Ya Favorite Rap Singer)” aka “Rap$inger” has innovated Fan Relationship Management (FRM) using Twilio (Programmable SMS Text) and Cashapp.

Los Angeles, CA - USA | July 07, 2020 -- Rap$inger has taken the time to create what seems like his own social media platform of sorts, which closely resembles “YouTube" functioning as a social media arcade. Rap$inger says, “People have always tried to separate my tech side, from my musically creative side like they are 2 separate people. I believe in today's climate, being tech savvy, financially literate, and musically inclined are 3 necessary tools to successfully become a music mogul”. As engagement is key to any brands survival and monetary success, Rap$inger seems to be speeding in a strategic direction.

How Does It Work?
Users earn points on https://yfrsofficial.com by: Voting on Posts, Leaving Comments, Direct Messaging, Customizing their Profiles, etc. Once points are acquired they have the ability to turn those points in for cash prizes which are “AirDropped” directly from “Rap$inger” using Cashapp. More details available here: https://yfrsofficial.com/rules/

Why Are You Doing This?
“I remember how big it was when YouTube changed the monetization game by pre-rolling ads over user created music videos, when seemingly unreachable tv broadcast platforms like BET, MTV, VH1 etc. were the main outlets to massive awareness for musical brands. I’m disrupting the artist to fan communication relationship with my newly launched platform (https://YFRSOfficial.com) by allowing fans engagement to have online real estate value, the same way artists have value on streaming platforms”.

Whats Next?
Rap$inger says his immediate goal is reaching 10,000 Users and maintaining high content engagement rates. He plans to continue debuting his new marketing capabilities, scaling his audience by promoting exclusive music content, collaborating with brand sponsors, and creating native ad space to increase market value for his new platform.

Silicon Valley Foam Cutting Services Company Now Expanding Offering Wood Machining Services

WeCutFoam, a company in Silicon Valley CA offering custom foam cutting, machining and prototyping services is expanding, and is now providing CNC wood machining services as well. The company being a subsidiary of Foamlinx LLC, manufacturer of foam cutting machinery is using its own line of CNC routers to mill and machine the material, on a table bed as large as 5ft by 10ft and up to 8 inches thick, all in one section. All types of wood can be machined, including plywood, melamine, MDF, particle boards and veneers.

The company typically produces custom signs, logo, letters, props, exhibits, displays, prototypes and composites. These products were mostly fabricated with foam materials, mostly Styrofoam and high-density Urethane foam, also known as tooling foam. Recently, the company received many request to produce wood products, hence the decision to expand and include CNC wood machining as well. Wood can be used to create vacuum forming molds, all types of furniture, custom oversized wooden planters, wood signs, décor, arts & crafts, architectural molds, crown moldings, panels, retails displays, trade show booths, instruments parts and tools, prototypes and many more as the applications of using wood is endless.

Customers can now use the company’s website to purchase custom large wooden planters, as long as 8ft or more that are hard to find at a local hardware store, they can buy decorative wall panels art made of stained plywood, mahogany, birch, cedar or cherry wood, they can order a decorative guitar, or inquire about any mold, composite or prototype they need.

WeCutFoam also combines wood machining with other types of materials such as foam, acrylics, Plexiglas, plastics, PVC, Sintra and composites. The CNC machining process, also known as subtractive manufacturing can also be combined with 3D printing additive manufacturing when the parts required are complicated and can benefit from combining these two processes. Projects can range from few inches to tens of feet as there is no limit to the size that can be fabricated. Any large pieces can be machined in sections, then glued together to form the desired shape or product.

Sigal Barnea, WeCutFoam Co-Owner stated “This is a great addition to the services we are already providing to our customers, and we are always happy to be able to grant any new wishes, as our customers are the ones guiding us, we owe them our success”. Sigal continues to say that especially now, during Covid-19 situation where there is another reality out there, with non-existent events and exhibits (which were a big part of our end users), we are thrilled to be able to expand and adjust ourselves to new markets.

While Wood might be more expensive than foam and much heavier, some products require the characteristics of wood rather than anything else. For example, it can be painted with a semitransparent stain or color to still show the material finish and shape. The choices of the material is also very broad and includes many types of wood to choose from that might add a high-value to the product.

WeCutFoam, established in Silicon Valley, CA since 2001, specializes in custom cutting shapes and products out of foam, wood, plastics and light metals. The company creates prototypes, molds, architectural shapes, props, sculptures, logos, signs, letters, museum exhibits, Trade Show displays and more. 3D printing, hard coating, hot wire cutting and vinyl printing services are also provided. Projects range from few inches up to large 3D realistic full scale cars, trucks, boats, airplanes and props.
