It replaces test method standard GB/T 26125 with a series of standards, known as the GB/T 39560 series, to ensure alignment with the international IEC 62321 series of standards.

China RoHS manages the use of six hazardous substances in electrical and electronic (EE) products. These are:
- Lead
- Mercury
- Cadmium
- Hexavalent chromium
- Polybrominated biphenyls
- Polybrominated diphenyl ethers

It applies to products listed in the ‘Standard Achieving Management Catalog’.
