Baar (May 12, 2026) - SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, will host a webinar, ‘Next-Generation Integrated Strategies for Skin Sensitization in Cosmetics and Personal Care Products’, on May 28, 2026.

As regulatory restrictions on animal testing continue to expand, alongside increasing expectations for safety and transparency, cosmetics and personal care product manufacturers are under growing pressure to adopt alternative approaches to toxicological risk assessment. Skin sensitization remains a critical endpoint in ensuring consumer safety and regulatory acceptance across global markets.

In this webinar, expert presenter Dr. Ashwani Sharma will provide an overview of the biological mechanisms underlying skin sensitization and explain how data from multiple non-animal sources can be integrated into robust, scientifically sound safety evaluations. He will look at next-generation integrated approaches, highlighting how in chemico, in vitro and in silico methods can be combined within integrated approaches to testing and assessment (IATA).

The session will examine key alternative testing methodologies and weight-of-evidence strategies, demonstrating how these approaches can support hazard identification and risk assessment for both cosmetic ingredients and finished products. Regulatory perspectives and case examples are also discussed, illustrating how integrated strategies align with current expectations in the US, EU and Asian markets.

By adopting next-generation integrated skin sensitization strategies, companies can improve decision-making, streamline product development and enhance regulatory readiness while supporting ethical, non-animal testing frameworks. SGS’s expertise in cosmetic safety assessment helps businesses navigate evolving regulatory landscapes while maintaining high standards of consumer protection and product quality.

Toxicologists, cosmetics and personal care manufacturers, quality control managers and regulatory specialists are invited to register now and gain practical insights into the next generation of skin sensitization safety assessment for global markets.

NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA – 1 May, 2026 - Elite Mechanical Systems, a trusted HVAC contractor serving the Greater Sacramento area, has launched a new service page designed to improve how homeowners, builders, and property owners explore their HVAC options. The update reflects the company’s continued investment in making it easier for customers to make informed decisions about comfort, efficiency, and long-term system performance.

As demand for reliable heating and cooling systems continues to grow, customers are placing greater importance on predictable performance, energy efficiency, and fewer unexpected system issues. The new service page provides a clearer breakdown of HVAC services, helping users better understand installation, repair, and maintenance options before starting a project.

“At Elite Mechanical Systems, we want customers to feel confident in every decision they make about their HVAC systems,” said Vitaliy Vechtomov, owner of Elite Mechanical Systems. “This new page is designed to simplify the process and provide clarity, whether someone is planning a new installation or addressing an issue with an existing system.”

The company’s core HVAC services include system installation, repair, and ongoing maintenance. These services are designed to deliver consistent indoor comfort while reducing the likelihood of breakdowns over time. By focusing on proper system setup and long-term performance, Elite Mechanical Systems helps customers avoid costly issues that often result from improper installation or overlooked maintenance.

Energy efficiency is another key focus highlighted on the new service page. Through SMUD rebate HVAC programs and other efficiency-focused solutions, customers can reduce energy usage while lowering long-term operating costs. These programs provide opportunities for homeowners and property owners to upgrade systems while taking advantage of available incentives.

The new service page also emphasizes Elite Mechanical Systems’ capabilities in specialized and new construction HVAC projects. The company works closely with general contractors, builders, and developers to design and install systems that align with construction timelines and long-term performance goals. Services such as mini split installation and new construction HVAC are approached as coordinated efforts, ensuring systems are properly planned from the ground up rather than treated as afterthoughts.

For custom home projects, this means HVAC systems are tailored to the specific layout, airflow needs, and energy efficiency goals of the property. For developers and property owners, the focus remains on scalability, cost predictability, and consistent system performance across multiple units or buildings.

Elite Mechanical Systems serves a wide range of communities throughout the Sacramento region, including Sacramento, Davis, Folsom, Rocklin, Antelope, Woodland, Elk Grove, Fair Oaks, Roseville, Carmichael, Galt, Arden-Arcade, Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova, West Sacramento, Placerville, Greenhaven, Natomas, East Sacramento, and South Land Park. This broad service area reinforces the company’s growing presence across Northern California.

Built around its core values of Excellence, Everywhere, and Every Time, Elite Mechanical Systems continues to differentiate itself through clear communication, reliable workmanship, and a commitment to doing the job right the first time. The new service page reflects that philosophy by giving customers a more transparent and informative experience from the very beginning of their HVAC journey.

Baar (May 1, 2026) – SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 058.26, focusing on Health Canada’s update of performance criteria for free-standing clothing storage units (CSUs) in Table 3 of Health Canada’s ‘Approach to the General Prohibitions under the Canada Consumer Products Safety Act’ (CCPSA).

The update, published on March 31, 2026, follows Health Canada’s assessment that CSUs not meeting the applicable criteria in ASTM F2057-23 are considered likely to pose a danger to human health or safety. This effectively prohibits the sale of free-standing CSUs that do not meet the requirements of ASTM F2057-23 or an equivalent standard and impacts manufacturers, importers, advertisers and retailers operating on the Canadian market.

The product scope of the update includes chests, drawer chests, dressers, bureaus, door chests and armoires that are not built into a wall or permanently attached to a structure, within specific height, weight and enclosed storage volume specifications.

Existing CCPSA general prohibitions are already in force, so there will be no legislated coming-into-force or transition period. As a result, Health Canada may take compliance or enforcement action at any time where it has reason to believe a product poses a danger or is non-CCPSA compliant. This includes products newly added to or recently updated in Table 3.

SGS experts publish SafeGuardS to keep stakeholders informed about regulatory changes that could impact their business. SafeGuardS 058.26 contains further information on the product scope of the update, including a link to Health Canada’s Notice of danger to human health or safety and risk mitigation for free-standing clothing storage units.

Stakeholders are encouraged to refer to the original SafeGuardS 058.26 for more details.

Reistor, a conscious fashion label known for its mindful design philosophy, is highlighting its spring-ready, resort wear collection: ‘Of Saltwater and Sand Dunes.’ While newly introduced, this collection is a combination of resort-ready outfits, spring dressing, and everyday styles: stylish, easy, breathable pieces designed to carry wardrobes from early sunshine to high summer ease.

This collection is an epitome of well-tailored, stylish silhouettes featuring dresses, classic tops, wide-leg pants, everyday shorts, and timeless matching sets that feel just as natural at a seaside resort as they do during everyday city life.

Vacation Ease, Everyday Versatility

This season calls for clothing that feels comfy, easy, and effortlessly elegant all day. Here is the collection that meets these criteria with silhouettes that transition seamlessly between cool mornings, vacation days, lazy breakfast outings, casual brunches, errands, or evening plans. In this collection, you’ll find stylish, versatile outfits all designed to offer maximum style and comfort with minimal effort.

These are pieces designed for adaptability. These outfits can be styled with sandals for a coastal escape or paired with sleek loafers or flats for a relaxed workday. The ease of coordination allows you to move from day to night without changing the essence of the outfit.

Crafted for Warm, Sunny Days

At the heart of the collection are eco-friendly organic cotton and 100% hemp fabrics: eco-friendly, lightweight, breathable, and soft against the skin. Hemp’s natural antibacterial and moisture-wicking properties make it particularly suited for warm temperatures, while organic cotton provides familiar comfort with a breezy finish.

These fabrics are intentionally chosen to feel gentle on your skin, non-itchy, breathable, and easy to layer during early spring, yet comfortable enough to stand alone in peak summer. The result is clothing that supports all-day wear while maintaining a sophisticated, effortless drape.

“As a brand, spring represents lightness; both in fabric and in feeling,” says Mehma, Co-Founder of Reistor. “With ‘Of Saltwater and Sand Dunes’, the intention was to create pieces that offer maximum comfort and style, and feel equally at home at a resort or during everyday moments. The fabrics that we chose, 100% organic cotton and hemp, allow that balance of comfort, durability, and mindful craftsmanship.”

From Early Spring to Peak Summer

The collection embraces the natural shift of the season. Lightweight dresses perfect for rising temperatures, shorts and tops offer relaxed structure, and matching sets provide versatile styling options across occasions.

Reistor’s commitment to low-impact materials remains central. By choosing fabrics that pose minimal harm to the environment while delivering maximum style, durability and breathability, the brand continues to shape a wardrobe that feels current yet timeless.

Of Saltwater and Sand Dunes is less about a single moment and more about a season-long mindset: style, ease, and versatility woven into every piece. As spring unfolds into summer, these silhouettes are designed to be worn often, styled freely, and lived in fully.

Backed by a family legacy of 70 years in textiles, Reistor is all about building a community, one that values conscious choices, mindful habits, and always feeling comfortable in what you wear. This latest spring collection carries forward this very philosophy: crafting stylish, eco-friendly, versatile outfits; worn with ease and designed with intention.
