Future Electronics President Robert Miller Congratulates Singapore APDC on Their 25th Anniversary

Montreal, Canada (release-news ) June 21, 2021 - Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of the opening of the company's Asia Pacific Distribution Center in Singapore.

Future Electronics was founded in Montreal in 1968 by company President Robert Miller. It expanded into the United States in 1972, opening its first American office in Boston.

The first Singapore APDC opened its doors in 1996. "What began as a small warehouse staffed by a handful of people has been transformed over the years into the company's highly automated Asia Pacific Distribution Center employing hundreds of workers," said Louis Lam, VP of Operations & Full Service Center, Asia Pacific.

Future Electronics made two major decisions in 2009 which have contributed to the success of their Asia Pacific operations. First, the company moved the APDC from the west to the east of Singapore to maintain close proximity to Singapore Changi Airport and carrier hubs. "This enabled us to offer the most flexible operating hours and the latest order cut-off times in the industry," Lam said.

The second decision was to invest significantly in transforming the new APDC into a highly automated distribution center, ensuring precise control over process quality, consistency and efficiency, and complete product traceability.

"We also established strong partnership with global integrators to guarantee their daily network flights are available to us, so that we can deliver products to the doorsteps of our customers as quickly as possible," Lam said. "We can reach most of the major cities in the Asia Pacific region within 24 hours with end-to-end shipment tracking."

Robert Miller, President of Future Electronics, congratulated the entire Singapore APDC team on their 25-year milestone, and thanked everyone for their contributions to the company's continued success and growth in the region.

BlueNRGLP BLE SoC from STMicroelectronics Featured in Sense Connect Control by Future Electronics

Montreal, Canada (release-news ) June 22, 2021 - Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, is featuring an advanced BLE system-on-chip from STMicroelectronics in the latest edition of Sense Connect Control.

BlueNRG-LP, the third generation of Bluetooth SoCs from STMicroelectronics, is the world's first Bluetooth LE 5.2-certified SoC to support concurrent connections with up to 128 nodes. This enables seamless, low-latency control and monitoring of large numbers of connected devices, such as smart lights, via a smartphone app or other Bluetooth-enabled controller.

BlueNRG-LP takes advantage of the latest Bluetooth 5.2 specification to extend communication range, increase data throughput, strengthen security, and save power. The BlueNRG-LP SoC's ultra-low power Bluetooth radio consumes as little as 3.4mA in receive mode, just 4.3mA when transmitting, and less than 500nA in quiescent mode, cutting the size of battery needed in most applications and prolonging run-time between charges.
