8 Message Strategies That Are Essential In Creating An Effective Direct Mail Campaign

Who says direct mailing is already an outdated marketing strategy? When done cleverly and included in a comprehensive and well-designed plan (which should include tapping a reputable mailing house Surrey), it can give a significant boost to your business.

In this feature, we’ve gathered eight strategies you can use to create an effective direct mail campaign.

Emphasize your "why." Clearly and concisely, craft a copy that will explain why the recipient needs your service or product. Make sure to focus on how your offering will benefit your prospective client — don’t just state some features.

Use a conversational tone. As what mailing houses in Surrey can testify, your direct mail campaign will be more potent if it uses a conversational tone. If you use plainly professional language, it might bore your reader to the point that he or she won’t even get to finish your mail.

Add a compelling CTA. Your call-to-action is that push that will prompt your target client to get in touch with you. Apart from using strong and appropriate words (e.g., Call for a free quote or consultation), don’t forget to include important details like contact details and your business address.

Include testimonials. What authenticates your claim are testimonials from real customers. This is why it’s vital to include brief words from satisfied end-users. Their words should highlight how helpful your offering is and what sets you apart from your competitors. Please take note that you might need to get permission/signed authorization before using their testimonials.

Restate your proposition in the postscript. Ask mailing houses in Surrey, and you’ll most likely get the same response: Postscript is important. As readers’ eyes tend to move down the page, you can use take advantage of this behaviour and reiterate your proposition in the P.S.

Personalize. What better way to convince a prospective customer than send something that’s directly addressed to him or her. Take the time and put effort into your direct mail campaign. Skipping the generic way of crafting marketing copies and opting for the customised route tend to yield greater results.

Take advantage of the white space. The white space is that space in your letter that doesn’t have any element — whether it be text, image, or logo. When used properly, white space can make it easier for your audience to read and digest what you’re saying. Use short paragraphs or bullets to avoid creating huge blocks of pure text.

Integrate them in a well-crafted marketing plan. As stated, direct mail marketing can be much more powerful when it is part of one comprehensive plan. Use other online and on-print marketing techniques to send your message across and reach the right people.
