New Research by Keto Cycle App Details the Biggest Factors that Lead to Weight Loss on the Keto Diet

New data from the Keto Cycle app has found users who create a grocery shop list days in advance are most likely to lose 10 percent or more of their body weight. The research also identified the biggest factors leading to successful weight loss on the Keto diet.

The study involved 10,269 users on the Keto Cycle app. Their data team analyzed gender, age, total time on the app, user engagement, height, initial weight and last recorded weight as part of their research.

The data found that those who lost the most amount of water engaged in four common activities: they created a grocery list, tracked their weight and water intake, and prepared some of their meals in advance. The data suggests people who lost weight on Keto were consciously aware of what they were going to eat for their next meal.

Kristina Zalnieraite, who heads nutrition for Keto Cycle, said their data team wanted to identify the actions that contributed to the most success.

“Most people just eat what is in the fridge and sometimes it’s not the healthiest option,” said Zalnieraite. “Our research found planning your meals days in advance prevents you from overeating or sabotaging your diet. If you eat too many carbs at the moment, you lose your state of Ketosis, making it harder to get back on track. But if you plan your meals in advance, it helps you stay on track.”

Biggest Factors that Lead to Most Weight Loss with Keto Diet

The data found 87.3 percent of all Keto Cycle users who followed planned their meals, logged their weight and water, and prepared their meals in advance lost the most amount of weight on the Keto diet. 39 percent lost between 5 and 10 percent of their initial weight.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that even a 5 percent weight reduction for overweight or obsese people will provide health benefits. CDC guidelines also say a 5 percent Body Mass Index (BMI) reduction will lead to improved blood pressure and lower cholesterol.

Weight Loss Tips for Keto Users

Zalnieraite recommends consumers who want to increase their weight loss on the Keto diet participate in these daily activities.

  • Prepare Meal Plans: Zalnieraite says planning and preparing a weekly meal plan helps with weight loss. Keto Cycle contains a database with more than 10,000 recipes, making it easier for users to plan their low carb meals when they are ordering their groceries.
  • Create a Grocery List: People who go to the grocery store with a grocery list are more likely to stick with the Keto plan since their kitchen is stocked with Keto-friendly products. Zalnieraite says when you go to the grocery store without a plan, you’re more likely to end up buying food that sabotages your Keto diet.
  • Track Water Intake: Monitoring your water intake on any diet will increase weight loss, but it is especially important for a keto diet. Zalnieraite says carbohydrates are responsible for holding water in your body but once someone restricts carbs in their diet, they retain less water and get dehydrated quickly. Keto users will also feel fuller faster without eating additional calories.
  • Track Weight: Users who continually update their weight are more likely to hold themselves accountable. Zalnieraite says monitoring weight brings awareness to eating patterns, and keeps consumers on the right track. This approach will also help consumers keep track of their overall health such as the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

Mixed Mental Health Announces New Online Life Coaching Services for Mixed Race Women

According to a report by the Pew Research Center, "mixed" is the fastest-growing racial category in the U.S. With this growth comes an increasing need for resources that cater to mixed-race individuals. Mixed Mental Health is proud to announce the launch of its new online life coaching services that engage mixed-race women and help them integrate the fantastic and beautiful pieces of who they are, build confidence, and crush their goals.

In addition, they offer counseling sessions designed to inspire, motivate and help mixed-race women realize that they have the potential to be great. Unfortunately, mixed-race women often bury their identities, feeling like they don’t fit into any community, and cast aside the "real" them, abandoning their self-journey. Losing their way is consistently happens as they get lost in the layers of societal expectations. Some of the challenges that mixed-race women face include:

  • Systemic racism with their family of origin
  • Uncertainty of safety with others
  • Navigating womanhood in an oppressive society
  • A deep sense of loneliness due to the lack of a nurturing society
  • A heightened sense of empathy that causes you to "feel" more and burn out regularly

Tackling these issues and helping women deal with them directly requires a unique perspective that aligns with these experiences. Unfortunately, a mono-racial mental health professional doesn’t have the tools to help mixed-race women with their specific needs. To begin healing those who are lost, the therapist must understand the experiences of mixed-race women and how they can take a toll. Brittany George, the founder of Mixed Mental Health, says: "The purpose of her guidance is not to tell anyone who you are, but to initiate (or fuel) the fire in them that wants to find out."

Through their services, mixed-race women find a place where they can visualize their dreams and make them a reality. Mixed Mental Health takes care of the logistics and offers a listening ear, understanding heart, and experienced hand to help on the journey. Brittany has created a place where all aspects of identity are welcome.

By creating a grand haven to connect with their guide weekly, Brittany provides mixed-race women a place to unpack their experiences, find better ways to manage stress, and express their emotions confidently and safely. Through self-healing, the seeds of curiosity can push through the fear of saying "yes" to new opportunities. By releasing one's full potential, mixed-race women can live one entire life instead of a thousand half ones.

Mixed Mental Health offers unique therapeutic sessions that help individuals achieve identity clarity. In addition, through the online program, like-minded women participate in empathetic community therapy. To learn more and begin the journey, please visit their website.

Mark Cohen, President of MRCPRNJ and his staff, are utterly dedicated to teaching CPR within the guidelines of the American Heart Association. They teach classes to staff at hospitals, private offices, healthcare agencies, and home care facilities.

MRCPRNJ instructors have been providing training to everyday people concerned about being prepared in case of an emergency. They will also travel to offices across New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia and Delaware.

The team offers four different levels of CPR training for interested parties.

Their first is the BLS Healthcare Provider Course which teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages. This includes doing ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device and oxygen, use of an automated external defibrillator {AED} and relief of a foreign body airway obstruction.

This level is intended for participants who provide healthcare to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in hospital and out of hospital. These could include nurses, paramedics, EMT's respiratory therapists, PTs and OT's, physicians, nursing students, police officers and other allied healthcare professionals.
